The Impact of Emotional Imbalances on Your Organs

The state of your mental health directly influences how you show up in the world.

Through my own experiences I am a firm believer that uncontrolled and negative emotions can have a toxic impact on your overall heath and wellness. In addition to my own beliefs, there are scientific studies that have proven that unhealthy emotions can drain your Spirit and tax your body’s organs, preventing them from functioning optimally, thereby opening the way for the onset of disease. Learning techniques to prevent, protect and heal yourself from the impact of negative emotions and traumatic experiences is imperative to your ability to thrive spiritually, mentally and physically. Religiously practicing those techniques will help you to counteract any type of imbalance so that it stands no chance of taking up a permanent residence in your mind and body that will in turn result in physical illness.

Many indigenous health practitioners believe that every organ corresponds to the energy of a certain emotion, and every disease stems from an imbalance in an organ or its meridians (energy channels).

A physical disorder linked to a certain organ actually stems from an imbalance in the emotion associated with that organ. The reverse could also be true: an imbalanced organ can heighten the specific emotion experienced by an individual.

The healthy goal is to have a balanced expression of emotions in all experiences. Learning how to properly express your emotions will help to strengthen your ability to control their intensity. Practicing these preventive techniques daily will help to combat the habit of harboring negative energy and wayward emotions, thereby replacing unhealthy reactionary habits with healthy premeditated actions.

A negative mindset will attract, harbor and breed feelings of negativity, such as drained mental and spiritual energy, anxiety, fear, pain, emptiness, violence, anger, frustration, brokenness, hopelessness, chronic stress and depression to name few. Without the proper knowledge and ability to deal with and heal from any of these traumatic reactions your body could begin to show symptoms of compromised immunity. Imbalanced, unhealthy emotions have a direct impact on the organs of the body. Stress alone has been scientifically proven to cause people to age more rapidly than normal, depleting one’s quality of life and shortening the life span.

Learning how to nurture, strengthen, tone, and detoxify your organs is paramount to achieving optimal health. The faster you decide to become a willing participant in the upkeep of your emotional health the quicker you can help remedy any imbalances that have negatively impacted your well being. Make the choice to only engage in healthy environments and acts that enhance your overall wellbeing. Commit yourself to incorporating preventive and healing activities such as journaling, meditation, counseling/therapy, eating foods that enhance your body’s function, exercise, and rest into your daily routine.

Building up positive emotions and incorporating ritual techniques that serve as nurturing and protective forces of habit are truly important to obtaining and maintaining optimal health. These positive reinforcements will help you to counteract and recover from experiences of physical imbalance/illness. Scientist Barbara Fredrickson proposes that we need to experience three positive emotions for every negative one. This, she claims, can be done intentionally for those of us less “wired” to positivity. These positive emotions literally reverse the physical effects of negativity and build up psychological resources that contribute to a flourishing life.

Cultivating positive emotions and environments for yourself overtime will help to rectify and eventually prevent the impact of negative experiences on your health. It will also help to build the spiritual and energetic stamina necessary for maintaining total body wellness. In my opinion, it is more beneficial to learn to become impenetrable to negative stressors than it is to be resilient.

The price tag of adopting a healthy attitude that will in turn create a healthy lifestyle is simply the courage and willingness to do so, consistent effort and practice. Anything that you do religiously becomes a habit, and habits give structure to lifestyle. Dedicate yourself to utilizing your powerful energy to promote a positive, preventive and solution oriented mindset that will transform you from being the victim to becoming the Superhero in every situation.

I beseech all of our patrons to willingly face challenging emotions and negative circumstances with an artillery of optimism, hope, faith, courage, determination, precautionary and solution oriented practices trusting that they will greatly improve the quality of your life and well being.
